Sea Kayaking

This course is designed to introduce students to the skills, guiding techniques and instruction protocol for the outdoor recreational activity of sea kayaking. Students will be introduced to the instructor and guide standards from the Canadian Recreational Canoeing Association (CRCA) and the Association of Eastern Canadian Sea Kayaking Outfitters (AECSKO). This course will include a multi-day trip which will deal entirely with sea kayak instruction, skill evaluation, and understanding good guiding practice under the guidelines set out by CRCA and AECSKO. By the end of the course, students will be provided the opportunity to obtain their instructor and/or guide certification. (exp 3) cr 1.5.
